Memphis Grizzlies small forward Chandler Parsons is healthy, but the team has decided to keep Parsons a healthy inactive for the foreseeable future, according to Shams Charania of The Atheltic.

Parsons hasn't played in a game since Oct. 24 due to swelling in his knee. If Parsons doesn't get to see any minutes soon, there could be a standoff between the swingman and Memphis.

Situation to monitor: Chandler Parsons, who has been out since Oct. 24 with knee swelling, has been medically cleared to return and was expected to play last Friday in Sacramento, but the Grizzlies’ front office has decided to keep Parsons a healthy inactive for the foreseeable future, sources said. Could this lead to a standoff?

Parsons arguably has the worst contract in the NBA. The 30-year-old signed a four-year, $94-plus million maximum contract with the Grizzlies back in 2016. Since signing that lucrative deal, Parsons has played in 73 games with Memphis and averaged just 7.0 points per game.

Chandler Parsons has little to zero trade value in the league. He has undergone multiple knee surgeries and looks like a sloth when he's on the basketball court. The Grizzlies might as well just waive the veteran and take the cap hit.
