Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. notched one of the biggest plays of the game in hitting a step-back three in front of LeBron James to give the visitors a 107-99 win at Staples Center on Sunday night.

With the Grizzlies up five points with around 25 seconds left, Jackson tried to find an ideal scoring route that would give his team the victory.

He ultimately decided to go with the step-back jumper from beyond the arc, and it paid off in a big way in helping Memphis snap a five-game losing streak.

Jaren Jackson Jr. had another excellent performance by scoring a game-high 27 points on 11-of-21 shooting while grabbing nine rebounds in 31 minutes of action.

Marc Gasol and Mike Conley each added 17 for the Grizzlies.

Meanwhile, the Lakers were led by LeBron James, who posted 22 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists.

Obviously, this was simply a huge win for the Grizzlies, who just haven't been able to find their way after jumping out to a 15-9 start on the season.

But after four straight games on the road, Jackson and company will be able to head back to Memphis to recharge before a somewhat favorable stretch of games on the upcoming schedule.

The Grizzlies will return to the court on Wednesday night to take on the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers, with Memphis getting four of its next five games at home.

It's clear that this team has what it takes to compete with some of the best in the NBA, and perhaps this win over the Lakers will help the Grizzlies regain some confidence.
