Memphis Grizzlies Superstar Ja Morant has been on a tear this season. He made a play in the Grizzlies contest versus the Minnesota Timberwolves that looked like a play that Allen Iverson used to make.

Morant and Iverson aren't completely different players. Morant is a super athletic guard just like Allen Iverson was.

His play this season has fuelled the Grizzlies to an incredible start. Memphis is 5-4 on the season and has beaten Championship contenders in four of their five wins.

They are getting these wins despite missing some key pieces including Dillon Brooks. The reason that they are getting these wins is because Ja Morant is playing like a top-10 player in basketball.

Morant on the season is averaging 25.2 points per game. He's also added 7.1 assists per game. If the Grizzlies can keep up this type of production and so can Morant, they might have an outside shot at an NBA title. They aren't too much different than last year's Phoenix Suns team. Memphis could possibly shock the NBA just like the Suns did and make a deep run in the playoffs.

This is all going to be dependent on Ja Morant and if he can continue playing like a top-10 player in the NBA. If the Grizzlies want to make something happen they need Morant to continue his play and add a piece or two at the trade deadline.
