We’re back with another betting prediction and pick for this action-packed UFC Abu Dhabi card as we turn our coverage towards this next bout in the Lightweight (155) Division. Fresh faces will square off as Georgia’s Guram Kutateladze faces England’s Jordan Vucenic in an exciting scrap. Check out our UFC odds series for our Kutateladze-Vucenic prediction and pick.

Guram Kutateladze (12-4) has gone 1-2 since joining the UFC roster in 2020. His most notable win came during his debut when he took down UFC contender Mateusz Gamrot in a huge upset win. Since then, he’s lost his only two other bouts and has had a significant amount of fight cancellations up to this point as he tries to find his rhythm once again. Kutateladze stands 5’11” with a 72-inch reach.

Jordan Vucenic (13-2) will be making his UFC debut as a 9-1 prospect and champion in the Cage Warriors organization. Vucenic has won his last four consecutive fights via submission and will be looking to bring his grappling skills to the biggest fight stage in the world. He comes in as the short betting underdog in his first UFC appearance. Vucenic stands 5’10” with a 72-inch reach.

Why Guram Kutateladze Will Win

Guram Kutateladze is back in action following his last knockout loss to Elves Brener over a year ago. He’s only had three fights come to fruition since his addition to the UFC roster in 2020, to which expectations were high following his win over Mateusz Gamrot. Still, his inactivity has hurt him and he hasn’t been able to find his footing since, something he’ll look to do against this debuting opponent. Kutateladze is a very aggressive grappler and uses his strength to control opponents on the mat. He’s even more willing to stand and strike with opponents, so we should see him welcome a barn burner against a fresh fighter like Vucenic.

Guram Kutateladze should be the harder puncher during this matchup and he’ll be favored to finish this fight by knockout. He’s very active with his kicking game and will throw very hard body kicks along with quick kicks to the head. Despite his most recent knockout loss, he actually has a very solid chin and is more than willing to eat shots in order to find his own offense. If he can remain calm while picking his shots with precision, we should see him fight like the version of him we’re used to seeing.

Why Jordan Vucenic Will Win

Jordan Vucenic makes his UFC debut as a former Featherweight Champion in the Cage Warriors organization, a promising pipeline when looking at talent like Conor McGregor, Ian Garry, and Paddy Pimblett following similar paths. He’s an uber-aggressive striker and doesn’t allow his opponents even a second to rest as he’s constantly engaging them with striking and grappling along the fence. Vucenic is a terror to deal with on the ground and once he finds his opponent’s back, he’s almost impossible to shake off from that position. He’ll quickly sink his hooks in and looks to rain down hellacious ground-and-pound from that position.

Jordan Vucenic is also a very capable grappler and has notched six of his professional wins by submission while never getting submitted himself. He won’t have to worry much about the submission grappling from Kutateladze and he’ll likely have the slight advantage on the ground if the fight reaches there. We should see Vucenic prove himself as the more aggressive fighter and if he’s willing to walk through the fire and be first in the exchanges, he should have great success during this fight.

Final Guram Kutateladze-Jordan Vucenic Prediction & Pick

While both of these fighters are rather unknown to most UFC fans, they’re guaranteed to put forth an exciting showing with the way both of them fight. Both men are extremely aggressive with their striking and aren’t afraid to march forward no matter the circumstances.

Guram Kutateladze should be billed as the better striker here and with his previous UFC experience, expect him to be landing the more damaging shots if this fight remains on the feet. However, Jordan Vucenic is very adept at reversing positions and capitalizing on his opponents’ mistakes, so don’t be surprised if he quickly turns Kutateladze’s aggressive style against him and takes this fight where he’s more comfortable.

For our final prediction, we’ll take a chance on the betting underdog in Jordan Vucenic for his skills on the ground. If he can get Kutateladze to overextend on a few of these shots, I expect him to find back control and finish this fight on the mat.
