Development for Halo Infinite may be getting in the way of a potential Halo Wars 2 sequel title.

HALO WARS 3 ISN'T COMING ANYTIME SOON

343 Industries revealed that they don't have anything planned for Halo Wars 2, or anything for the series, for that matter. In spite of the game celebrating its fourth anniversary this month, 343 Industries is shelving Halo Wars 2 for the benefit of Infinite. It seems like the negative reception for the game during its initial reveal really hit 343 Industries hard. Now, 343 Industries makes sure that everything's going smoothly in the game's development. All in an effort to make the game achieve the expectations of its fans. They've even committed to making sure that the game will run optimally for all platforms.

Rumors about a new Halo Wars game arrived when job listings by 343 Industries for “a new project” circulated. Many fans expected the game to be a sequel for the hit RTS game, a possible Halo Wars 3. However, 343 Industries community manager John “Unyshek” Junyszek was quick to dismiss the rumors, saying that the listings are also for Halo Infinite.

“I did some digging and was able to confirm that this is a role for Halo Infinite,” says Unyshek. “It's our standard boilerplate language for job listings. We saw the same attention on a posting last summer before we confirmed it was for Infinite as well.”

Meanwhile, 343 Industries stays true to its commitment to giving continuous updates on its progress in developing the long-awaited game. Apart from news regarding Infinite, 343 Industries also give updates on other titles. These updates include community updates and event calendars for multiplayer titles.

This news might bring disappointment to fans who have been hoping for a Halo Wars 3 title. However, it's good to know that 343 Industries and Microsoft aren't pulling any punches in Infinite‘s development.
