To say that Game 1 between the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks was intense would be a complete understatement — especially if you saw what happened after Trae Young hit the game-winning shot all over the Knicks.

Young busted out his best Reggie Miller impersonation as he shushed a stunned Knicks crowd after draining the game-winning shot. The rowdy fans in Madison Square Garden have clearly taken exception to Young's antics and even the Hawks themselves know that they should be in for quite a welcome in Game 2:

“Game 2, as I’ve said to our guys, is going to be even crazier. The intensity is going to go up a lot. We have to be ready for that,” Hawks coach Nate McMillan said on a Zoom call after practice Monday, via Pete Botte of the New York Post. “I didn’t know if I was really hearing what they were saying. I hadn’t heard that in an arena before, not from the whole building.”

“I thought Trae did a good job of blocking out the noise, which you have to do. … It didn’t seem like it impacted him at all. He was able to stay focused on what he had to do out there on the floor and able to get a win.”

The Knicks fans were jeering Trae Young all night long, and they even resorted to some “F–k Trae Young” chants throughout the evening. As McMillan said, Trae took this all in stride as he torched the Knicks in Game 1.

In the end, it was Hawks and the Young who had the last laugh after that epic game-winner and equally memorable celebration. You can be sure, however, that Knicks fans are not going to forget about that anytime soon.
