Utah Jazz main man Donovan Mitchell sauced up New Orleans Pelicans defender Nickeil Alexander-Walker something proper in the first quarter on Thursday, and Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young just had to react.

Young was totally impressed as Mitchell dropped Alexander-Walker with a brutal crossover to his left, then rocked him again with an equally vicious one to the right, causing the young guard to touch the hardwood on multiple occasions to help stabilize himself.

Of course, by the time Alexander-Walker was back on his feet, the 24-year-old Mitchell had zoomed past him and set up a beautiful bullet pass to big man Derrick Favors for an easy layup.

Like Young, the flashy Mitchell is having one of the best seasons of his young career. Before their game against the Pelicans, he's averaging 23.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. He's also 38.5 percent from deep on 8.7 attempts per game, which are both career-highs.

Furthermore, the Jazz are playing some of their best basketball in recent years. They currently hold a 10-4 win-loss record, which is third in the stacked Western Conference behind only the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. Donovan Mitchell has been steady all year, leading the charge for the Jazz with guys like Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, and Mike Conley Jr. providing quality assistance.

For his part, Trae Young knows his way around making defenders look foolish, as his dribble package is one of the best in the NBA. His new-look Atlanta Hawks are also playing much better than they have in past seasons as they are currently tied for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 7-7 record.
