Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young had to be helped off the court by his teammates late in the second quarter of the team's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Young fell awkwardly less than two minutes before halftime in a play where he was called for an offensive foul.

After exiting, Atlanta announced that the 21-year-old point guard would not return against the Bucks.

The news gets even worse for Hawks fans, as Young himself announced that he will not travel with the team for their next game in Chicago.

The second-year star out of Oklahoma has been one of the lone bright spots for the struggling Hawks squad this season. After a stellar rookie campaign, the 6-foot-2 guard has taken his game to the next level.

The No. 5 pick of the 2018 NBA Draft is putting up 29.0 points, 8.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game while improving both his field goal and three-point percentage from last season.

Unfortunately for the city and the team, Trae Young's strong play is not translating to many wins for Atlanta. Through 32 games, the Hawks have the worst record in the NBA at 6-26. The team would go on to lose 112-86 against Milwaukee and has now suffered losses in nine straight games.

Before his departure, Young recorded 12 points and two assists in just 15 minutes. The point guard also had four turnovers and was minus 26 in the plus/minus category.

After traveling to Chicago, the Hawks will travel to Orlando and Boston before returning home on Jan. 4 to play the Indiana Pacers.
