When it became time for the Atlanta Hawks to make their 19th overall draft pick, selecting forward John Collins, some within the organization saw the next coming to the man they know as “The Human Highlight Reel” — otherwise known as Dominique Wilkins.

In his short stint in this year's Summer League, Collins has proved just why and none better than today's thunderous tomahawk jam over two New Orleans Pelicans defenders, leaving the commentators and fans present with their mouths agape.

The young rookie executed a beautiful pick-and-roll at the top of the key and soared for a right-handed slam after crossing the free-throw line.

At 6-foot-10 and 225 pounds, the 19-year-old Collins didn't hesitate to punch one down the hoop with reckless abandon, taking guard Isaiah Cousins and forward Cheick Diallo for a ride in his first very own dunk-of-the-year poster.

The Wake Forest product shined in a 105-95 loss, pouring in 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting, nine rebounds, a steal, a block, and a made three-pointer during his 25 minutes of action.
