Frustration built up on the Miami Heat last Friday after taking a bitter 95-94 road loss against the Denver Nuggets. It spoiled whatever momentum Miami had after breaking a three-game skid with a home win over the Chicago Bulls last Wednesday.

Moreover, it caused some Heat players to question their roles, including mercurial big man Hassan Whiteside, who said he wasn’t sure what the team’s thinking was in managing his minutes, per Ira Winderman of The Sun-Sentinel.

“I don't know, man,” Whiteside said after playing 23:59, with four teammates getting longer minutes. “I think I'm on a minutes restriction or something. I don't really know what's going on right now.”

The Heat probably were just capping Whiteside’s minutes after the big man missed five games earlier with a left knee bruise. But Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra might also be merely trying to shuffle his men in that game with Whiteside not having much success in the first half, wherein he only had eight points with zero rebounds in 10 minutes.

It’s all back to normal Sunday, though, as Whiteside played for 31 minutes and had a monster game of 21 points, 17 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks to help the Heat repulse the L.A. Clippers, 104-101.

In four games this season, Hassan Whiteside is logging in 29.6 minutes and recording 18.3 points and 14.0 rebounds per game.
