It's been 10 years since LeBron James' infamous The Decision and it's still being talked about to this day. When he joined the Miami Heat in 2010 to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to form the so-called “Heatles,” it shifted the power balance in the entire NBA. It, however, also resulted in a power struggle early on between the three superstars.

Still, as predicted, they went to the NBA Finals in their first stint together. But they were upset by the less-heralded trio of Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks, 4-2. Many chided the Heat for choking on the big stage despite their star-studded roster.

After the bitter defeat, LeBron, Wade, and Bosh realized there can't be three alpha dogs in one squad. Bosh shared on Shannon Sharpe's podcast how they decided to cede the team to The King and let him be the main man.

“I didn't want to step on their (Heat) toes. LeBron definitely didn't want to step on D-Wade's toes because he had developed his style of play at that time. It was a ball-dominant style, to be honest with you. It took us having a conversation to pretty much say: ‘Hey, man, do your (LeBron) thing. We're behind you. We're going to allow you to be the best player in the world.' It was off and running after that.”

After the initial power struggle and conscious tiptoeing of the three All-Stars, the Heat won the title over the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012 as LeBron and Bosh finally won their first title, while Wade earned his second. They defended the crown the following year, beating the San Antonio Spurs in a classic series, further cementing the Heatles' place in NBA history.

Safe to say, Their Decision worked.
