The Miami Heat escaped with another impressive overtime victory on Saturday, as Jimmy Butler and company defeated fellow Eastern Conference contenders in the the Philadelphia 76ers, 117-116.

Following yet another tightly contested win, Butler talked about his team's ability to thrive in clutch moments. He believes this will be very useful once the postseason kicks in:

“Just the execution part of it,” Jimmy Butler said when asked how the Heat’s success in close games can translate to the playoffs, via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “I think we did a great job of knowing what schemes we’re in, knowing what plays we’re running, knowing where everybody needs to be and we get there very quickly. I feel like we’re still learning everybody, even though we may be however many games in now. But we’re picking up the pace of everything and understanding what it’s really going to take to win these close games. In the playoffs, it does become a possession game. So you practice those habits now.”

The Heat are now 6-0 in overtime this season and are 11-3 “clutch” games, which are defined by a game that has a margin of five points or fewer in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. Saturday's win over the Sixers is further proof that Miami is more than capable of stepping up in big moments.

Butler led his team to this huge win, logging a team-high 25 points (7-of-21 from the field, 11-of-14 from the line), nine rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and a block in 42 minutes of play. The 30-year-old has been playing at a high level for the Heat so far this season despite struggling with his jump shot, and it is without question that he has been instrumental to Miami's surprising success thus far.
