Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has never been one to back down from a challenge. With just over a week remaining in the NBA regular season, he could care less about the names on the schedule.
A reporter asked Butler about the difficulty of Miami's remaining schedule as the Heat continue to jockey for playoff position. Butler did not mince words, joking the schedule might be considered tough if the reporter's âsorry assâ was stepping onto the floor for Miami.
Reporter: "You aware how tough the schedule w/ 2 against Celtics, 1 against 76ers, 1 against Bucks?"
Jimmy Butler: "That's tough for you?"
R: "I don't know."
JB: "Maybe if your sorry ass was on our team it'd be tough, but I think we'll be just fine" đ€Łpic.twitter.com/sESF09v44p

This is vintage Jimmy Butler, to say the least.
The five-time All-Star has always maintained an underdog mentality. It's what helped propel the Heat to the NBA Finals as a No. 5 seed last fall.
Butler has repeatedly shown deference to things like playoff seeding and the opponent in front of him and his team. He said recently he does not pay attention to the standings and could care less where the team finishes when all is said and done.
Truthfully, though, Miami has an opportunity to gain some ground.
The Heat are bunched up in the middle of the Eastern Conference. They are 1.5 games back of the fourth-seeded New York Knicks, but also just one game up on the seventh-seeded Boston Celtics.
Butler and Co. would seem to have their work cut out with a pair of games against the Celtics and a showdown with the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers on the horizon. Both opponents will be hungry for victories, with the Celtics looking to climb the standings and the Sixers hoping to secure home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference slate.
None of that matters to Butler, who appears ready to take on all comers.
