Josh Richardson out for Heat vs. Pistons on Friday
The Miami Heat will be without starting shooting guard Josh Richardson when they take on the Detroit Pistons on Friday.
Josh Richardson is dealing with an illness which will prevent him from playing against the Pistons in Detroit. It looks like there’s a bug spreading around the Heat right now and Richardson is the latest player to catch it.
No Josh Richardson tonight for Heat, due to illness. Wayne Ellington over his illness and available, per @DavidFurones_ Also, Tyler Johnson available after missing practice due to illness Thursday.

The Heat enter Friday with a record of 21-21, good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Miami, however, is just 5-5 in its last 10 games.
In 41 games for the Heat this season, Richardson is averaging 17.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists. The 25-year-old swingman is shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 37.2 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Richardson leads the Heat in scoring, is third in assists and fifth in 3-point percentage. Miami is going to have a tough time replacing his production against the Pistons, but luckily they have Dwyane Wade who can step up and play at a high level.
Dion Waiter will likely get extended minutes as well versus the Pistons, who are ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 19-24 record.
Friday will only be the second game of the season that Richardson doesn’t play in.
