Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson is the player he is today because of Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

Richardson basically grew up under Wade's eye with the Heat, and he's thankful for everything he learned from Flash:

“He’s one of the best vets that I’ve played around and there were some very good vets down there in Miami,” Richardson told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy. “The biggest thing is probably the way that I approach the game. He taught all of the young guys on his way and it helped us a lot.”

The Heat’s three-day event for Wade’s jersey retirement is going to be epic. Wade will surely be emotional on Saturday when his No. 3 jersey goes into the rafters in Miami in front of Heat Nation.

Wade played 948 regular season games with the Heat throughout his stint with the team. He averaged 22.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

Every Heat fan will always remember where and who they were with when Wade took over the 2006 Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Wade put up 34.7 points per game in that series and helped Miami erase a 2-0 series deficit to win the title in six games.

Dwyane Wade has a county nicknamed after him in Miami. He will always be the city’s and Heat’s favorite son.
