Former Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers hasn't been in the NBA since the end of the 2017-18 season, and while it's highly unlikely that he'll get another chance next season, the veteran point guard is fine with that. After all, he's already had his fair share of good times.

Chalmers was an important member of the Heat teams that won back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013, and for him, those were the best days of his playing career.

“All the fun we had. Just winning championships, being on those teams that really was a dynasty team. It’s being part of some special moments. Leaving my mark is probably the main thing,” Chalmers told Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

Chalmers played seven and half seasons with the Heat, putting up 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 525 regular season games. Although he spent his final years playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, he said that Miami will always have a special play in his heart.

“That’s always going to be my team,” the 33-year-old guard added. “They accepted me, they welcomed me in and I got my NBA start there. So that’s always going to be a team I’m going to root for and check in on.”

Currently, Chalmers is playing for the 3-Headed Monsters in the Big3. He will return to Miami to play in the American Airlines Center once again on Saturday.
