It sounds like at least one person is excited about their move to the Miami Heat.

Miami Heat center Meyers Leonard was traded to South Beach in the four-team sign-and-trade that produced Jimmy Butler for the Heat. Miami sent Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers, where Leonard is coming from.

Leonard, a 7-foot-1 power forward and center, spent his entire seven-year NBA career in Portland prior to the offseason trade.

Leonard's spouse, Elle, appears to be excited about the change of scenery, however.

Per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald:

“When I came home after getting traded, I was in a little bit of shock,” Leonard said. “But my wife is ecstatic. She’s excited for a new opportunity. She’s excited for the sunshine. This is not a joke, I came in the house and she knew I was a little bit in shock and she was blaring Will Smith’s ‘Miami.’”

Leonard averaged 5.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 393 career appearances for the Blazers, starting in 42 games, and shooting 47.9% from the field, 38.5% from 3, and 82.8% from the free throw line. He's a mobile big who stretches out to the 3-point arc and will be be a depth piece for the Miami franchise.

The Heat are also welcoming Butler, a four-time All-Star and former Most Improved Player winner. Butler is a great defensive player on the perimeter and one of the most clutch shooters in today's game.
