After leading the Miami Heat to a Game 2 victory over the Boston Celtics in the East Finals, head coach Erik Spoelstra continues to build on his impressive postseason body of work. In the 2020 playoffs alone, he has surpassed several Hall of Fame NBA coaches.

Per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Erik Spoelstra now has 81 postseason wins, tied with K.C. Jones for eighth-most in league history. He has also surpassed several legendary head coaches.

As of this writing, the Heat and Erik Spoelstra are 10-1 in the postseason. They swept the Indiana Pacers in the first round, booted out the Milwaukee Bucks in five games, and are currently up 2-0 over the Celtics. The Heat, who have been tagged by analysts as the dark horse of this tourney, have been stellar thus far.

Their success has subsequently placed several players under the spotlight. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Goran Dragic have received ample praise from Erik Spoelstra for their play.

Just like the players, Erik Spoelstra has been raising eyebrows with his incredible coaching. While he has two titles in his resume, some never really gave him credit. After all, he coached a team stuffed with future Hall of Famers in LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

When the Big Three broke up, the Heat struggled to get back into contention. But in the 2020 playoffs, Erik Spoelstra is reminding everyone that behind every great roster, a great coach too is imperative to make it work.

And whatever happens to the Heat's playoff campaign this year, Erik Spoelstra will definitely go down as one of the finest coaches in history. The records prove it.
