After 13 seasons with the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade signed with his hometown Chicago Bulls. While there were expectations the Bulls would be competitive, the front office traded Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves this offseason, signaling the start of a rebuilding process.

At this stage of his career, the 35-year-old is interested in a winning situation and the Bulls are expected to buy him out. As Wade has been linked with his former team, the Heat would only be interested in him under certain circumstances according to Barry Jackson of Miami Herald:

The Heat would be interested in Wade under certain circumstances, including if he agrees to a bench role and if he would be willing to play for Miami’s $4.3 million exception.

After Wade left, the Heat exceeded expectations and nearly made the playoffs last season. With Dion Waiters re-signing on a four-year, $52 million deal and Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson looking to take the next step in their development, the Heat have somewhat of a crowded backcourt.

With discussions of a potential buyout, both Hassan Whiteside and Udonis Haslem have expressed interest in a Wade reunion. However, it appears Wade's role with the team and potential of winning his fourth championship will likely be deciding factors if the Bulls ultimately buy him out.
