Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo could be eyeing a move to the Miami Heat soon.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the strongest preliminary indication is that the Heat are the team that Oladipo wants to play for next.

The chatter began with The Athletic’s Shams Charania noting the Heat’s interest in adding both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Oladipo — the two players that I had identified a week earlier as Miami’s most likely targets in 2021 free agency. And now comes a Wednesday report from the Indianapolis Star that “despite rampant speculation that he could end up with the Knicks (he fired Leon Rose of CAA, then his agent who is now president of the franchise), the strongest preliminary indication is Miami” as his next team.

The Star reported that “two league sources told IndyStar that Oladipo wants two things: the most money possible [he will be 29 next year] and the chance to win big in the playoffs.”

Oladipo becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2021 unless the Pacers sign him to an extension before then. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Pacers and Oladipo held contract extension talks before the 2019-20 campaign began, with Indiana offering the high-flyer a four-year, $80 million deal.

Discussions did not go any further from there, as Oladipo wasn’t flattered by the offer. As a result, it’s hard to tell where things stand between the Pacers and their franchise player.

Everyone in the NBA knows the Heat are going to go after Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021 if the MVP doesn't sign the supermax extension with the Milwaukee Bucks this summer.

If the Heat are somehow able to get Giannis and Oladipo, they would have a lethal Big 4 of Antetokounmpo, Oladipo, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
