Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade  pulled Atlanta Hawks rookie Kevin Huerter for a jersey swap at the end of the their game. The 20-year-old, who grew up idolizing Wade, was shocked that the 37-year-old chose him for the end-game tradition.

The rookie was in awe upon Wade's wish to switch jerseys with him. Wade probably knew that Huerter chose to wear number three because of him.

After the game, Dwyane Wade shared why he chose Huerter for the jersey swap, admitting he was aware that the University of Maryland product looked up to him and wore both his jersey number and his shoes. So he thought it would be nice to surprise the kid after the game, per Bleacher Report:

“Early in the year, a good friend of mine told me about him when he was younger. That he wore my shoes, he wore number three because of me, he looked up to me. So I knew I was going to surprise him at the last time we played them.”

It was a class act by Wade. In the past, he switched jerseys with known NBA players and friends. This time, he changed it up a bit by choosing a relatively unknown young man whom he believes has tremendous upside.

Wade is definitely more than just a great basketball player. He's a true inspiration as well.
