The matchup between the Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors on Tuesday turned out to be a highly-competitive, and even hotly-contested, one until Wayne Ellington saved the day for the South Beach team.

The game was filled with tension right from the get go. Unfortunately, the night was marred by an altercation in the third quarter when James Johnson and Serge Ibaka exchanged punches that resulted to their ejections.

The last few possessions of the game were also very entertaining. DeMar Derozan answered Goran Dragic's clutch basket with his own, giving the Raptors the lead via a follow up on his own miss with 3.1 seconds remaining.

However, Erik Spoelstra still had something up his sleeves as he mapped out a play that allowed Wayne Ellington to knock down the game-winning layup with only 0.3 of a second to go.

The action did not end at the final buzzer though as Goran Dragic and DeMar DeRozan had their own scuffle. DeRozan pushed Dragic before the latter held on to his jersey. The good news was Spoelstra and C.J. Miles were near the two and they were able to separate them immediately.

It remains to be seen if the league office will penalize them for their actions, but one thing that’s certain is that the Heat and Raptors’ next two matchups, on February 13 and April 11, will now be even more anticipated.

DeRozan paved the way for the Raptors with 25 points. Meanwhile, Dragic had 24 markers to lead the Heat in snapping Toronto's five-game winning streak.
