After a long wait, Hogwarts Legacy will once again be previewed, this time through a PlayStation State of Play live stream later this week.

Announced on the PlayStation Blog, the live stream preview will be players' first look at Hogwarts Legacy gameplay. The show, which is scheduled for March 17, 2 PM PT, will run for 20 minutes and feature 15 minutes of gameplay on the PlayStation 5. Join other Potterheads on Thursday by watching the Hogwarts Legacy State of Play on either Youtube or Twitch. A post summarizing the revealed content will also appear on the PlayStation Blog after the show, so be sure to come back after the gameplay reveal.

First announced in September 2020, the action-adventure RPG game is being developed by Avalanche Software, possibly as early as 2017. The game is set in the 1800s and players will play as students at Hogwarts, many years before any of the events from the Wizarding World books. The player will, oddly enough, be able to choose their Hogwarts House and attend classes, exploring the open world including iconic locations such as Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village. Players can also cast various magical spells, brew potions, tame magical beasts, and engage in combat. The player will also be able to customize their character. It'd be interesting how far the game has gone since its gameplay was first leaked through unauthorized footage in 2018.

The controversial author of the Harry Potter franchise J.K. Rowling is reportedly not involved directly in the game's development, according to publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released sometime this year on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X.
