The Charlotte Hornets are one of a couple of teams from around the league that are still looking for a new head coach. According to reports, the organization has now turned its attention to Damian Lillard's former coach for the Portland Trail Blazers.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, Terry Stotts is set to interview for the job opening in Charlotte:

The Charlotte Hornets will interview former Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts for their head coaching job this week, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Stotts last coached in the NBA during the 2020-21 season for the Blazers. He was unable to secure a job this past year, but it now appears that he's closing in on his next gig. Should he get the nod in Charlotte, he will be succeeding former head coach James Borrego, who was fired at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

It is worth noting, however, that Stotts is currently not considered the frontrunner for the race:

Bucks assistant Darvin Ham will also interview for a second time in-person for the Hornets' head coaching job, and he has emerged as a serious candidate, sources said.

Apart from Stotts and Ham, the Hornets have also been linked to former Lakers head coach Frank Vogel. Charlotte is clearly keeping their options open here.
