After the departure of star guard Kemba Walker to the Boston Celtics, the Charlotte Hornets have entered full rebuild mode. One player that they are depending on to lead their young roster is point guard Terry Rozier, who arrives in Charlotte with a chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove.

Rozier already has the backing of Hornet's head coach James Borrego. Borrego claims that Rozier is exactly what Charlotte needs: a player who is ready to take over and be the leader of the team.

“He walks in our door with leadership qualities,” Borrego said of Rozier, per Per Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. “We’re going to push him to lead this group in a competitive way: Bring a spirit to every practice and game.”

Rozier comes to the Hornets after a year that saw his playing time and stats dwindle. Last season, the Louisville product averaged nine points a game in almost 23 minutes of playing time. He shot 38 percent from the floor and 35 percent from distance. All of these statistics are lower then the ones Rozier produced in his break out 2017-18 campaign.

Now, Rozier will look to turn the page and go back to his dominant play that we saw in the Celtics' 2017 playoff run. If we see the return of the “Scary Terry” of old, the Hornets won't regret their biggest signing of the offseason.
