Terry Rozier is officially a member of the Charlotte Hornets, and he's already expecting himself to play a massive role for the team moving forward.

In a recent interview with reporters after his deal with the Hornets was made official, Rozier said that he's ready to fill the shoes that Kemba Walker left and that he's been ready for a lead role for a long time.

“I understand what Kemba did and that's great,” Rozier said, per Rod Boone of The Athletic. “I respect the hell out of him and what he did. He's a hell of a player. It's not easy shoes to fill, but like I said I'm ready for this. I've been ready for this for a long time.”

There is no doubt that Rozier has potential, but for someone who's never been a first option before, saying that he's ready to replicate Walker's success with the Hornets might be too soon. Still, he doesn't lack confidence, which is good, considering that he will be with a team that's had very little success over the past decade.

Last season, Rozier averaged 9.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists — quite underwhelming numbers considering the fact that the guy he will replace put up 25-4-6. But if he's as good as he says he is, then he will be a candidate to not only make the All-Star team, but he could also be in the running for Most Improved Player of the Year.

Once next season begins, we'll find out if Rozier can walk the talk or not.
