Miles Bridges is going to be one of the hottest free agents in the offseason, and the Charlotte Hornets will likely do everything in their power to re-sign the 6-foot-6 forward to an extension. Bridges will not be short of suitors, though, with Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers now being linked to the 24-year-old stud.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Bridges has done enough this past season for the Hornets to consider giving him a max contract. The Blazers, however, could make this scenario quite complicated for Charlotte:

One executive told me, “Bridges will get close to, if not the max, at this point. He’s 23 years old and a big wing. Those guys are so rare. If Portland can’t trade for Jerami Grant, they’ll probably look in Bridges’ direction.”

Bridges has a great thing going with LaMelo Ball right now. You can easily see this pair as the core that could possibly take the Hornets to new heights in the near future. Charlotte will need to dig deep into its pockets and will need to act quickly as teams such as the Blazers appear to be circling the possibility of swooping in on Bridges if extension talks stall.
