The New Orleans Saints have witnessed Alvin Kamara miss every single practice through Thursday. With the Saints playing on Sunday, Kamara's status is likely leaning towards being doubtful, especially if he's unable to practice in any fashion Friday.

Therefore, Sean Payton may have to adjust his offense heading into Week 7. Here's how the Saints need to adjust their offense if Kamara can't play against the Chicago Bears.

Last week, the versatile running back appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury. Kamara ended up being active, but he wasn't much of a difference-maker with just 66 yards from scrimmage on 18 touches (3.67 yards per touch).

Now, at the beginning of the week, Kamara is now dealing with an ankle and knee injury. Of course, Mark Ingram departed from the Saints in free agency for the Baltimore Ravens.

Luckily for New Orleans, they replaced Ingram with Latavius Murray as Kamara's backup. Yes, Murray isn't as talented as Ingram, but he's still capable of handling a full workload in the backfield.

Therefore, Payton will need to adjust his offense by keeping Murray involved in the game-plan. While Drew Brees continues to rehab his thumb injury, the Saints have to continue to keep Teddy Bridgewater out of danger.

By that, it means that Bridgewater has done a remarkable job sticking to the script that Payton lays out for him. In Bridgewater's four starts, the formidable backup quarterback has been sacked eight times.

In addition, Bridgewater has only turned the ball over twice for the Saints. Payton was able to put him in situations to succeed by getting the ball out quick to Kamara and Michael Thomas.

Without Kamara, New Orleans will have to attempt to have a similar game-plan in place this Sunday. Of course, Murray isn't much of a receiving threat out of the backfield. But Dwayne Washington could become the receiving threat in Kamara's absence.

Along with Washington, the Saints also signed Zach Zenner to provide some depth at running back. It remains to be seen if he has any type of role in the offense in Week 7.

Again, it is crucial for the Saints to run the football to negate Chicago's dangerous pass rush. Of course, Payton has likely created his offensive plan around where Khalil Mack is at all times.

Once they get the run game established, then Bridgewater can proceed to get the ball to Thomas, Jared Cook, and his other receivers. However, Bridgewater isn't much of a deep thrower so it is all about the short and intermediate passes.

This season, Bridgewater averages just six intended air yards per passing attempt. Among all of the quarterbacks in the NFL, that has him as the third-lowest quarterback in that stat; only ahead of Derek Carr and Luke Falk.

Due to this, expect to see a healthy amount of screen plays for the Saints offense on Sunday. This is how the Saints can manage to put themselves in a position to win with Kamara on the sideline in street clothes.
