It's no secret that Romelu Lukaku struggled immensely in his first season back at Chelsea in 2021-22. He didn't help his case either after a bombshell interview where the Belgian essentially said he should've never left Inter Milan, which upset a lot of Blues fans and members within the club as well.

Since the Premier League giants paid a boatload of money for Lukaku, the only way he'll be able to play elsewhere next term is on a loan deal. Well, his lawyer is set to meet with Inter to discuss a possible move this summer after two fantastic seasons in Italy prior to the Chelsea move.

Via Goal:

Lukaku scored just eight league goals for the Blues while making only 16 starts. Between injuries and inconsistent play, he also lost his spot in the starting XI to Kai Havertz.

That being said, Lukaku flourished at Inter, forming a lethal partnership with strike partner Lautaro Martinez. The Belgium international netted 67 times and tallied 13 assists with the Nerazzurri. It doesn't get much better than that. Lukaku clearly loved playing at the San Siro and would be delighted to do so again.

With Alexis Sanchez set to leave Inter and Edin Dzeko getting older, the club would be smart to bring Lukaku back. The chemistry he already has with Martinez is surely going to be an instant hit again if this becomes a reality.
