The 2018 NFL season was a disappointing one for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fortunately, linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. was able to get out of dodge the disappointment after being traded to the Los Angeles Rams during the year.

The change of scenery has been quite noticeable for Fowler. According to The MMQB's Robert Klemko, he feels Los Angeles is much more determined to win a championship than Jacksonville was.

“[When rookie linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo began helping me] that's when I could tell everyone was for one goal,” Fowler said. “I was traded for, and there wasn't an elephant in the room or anything. I'm grateful to work with a group of guys like that. We have a lot of star power, guys with accolades, rings, Hall of Fame credentials, but these guys are humble and they put all that behind them. They keep the main thing. … It took me coming here to realize that we weren't humble about it. Other teams were hungrier than us.”

Fowler's career got off to a rough start due to injury. As a result, he was never able to live up to the hype of being a former No. 3 overall pick. Fortunately, he has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence with the Rams.

Fowler's comments are certainly indicative of the Jaguars struggles this season. There was plenty of hype surrounding Jacksonville after making it to the AFC Championship Game last year. Unfortunately, the team took a tremendous step back this season and now seem to be in the midst of a rebuild.

Meanwhile, Fowler is getting ready to play in a Super Bowl. There is no question that he has made his presence felt at crucial times for the Rams throughout the year. Another solid performance could be just what Los Angeles needs against this efficient New England offense.
