The Jacksonville Jaguars decided to hire Jay Gruden as their new offensive coordinator and some players have shared their opinion on the move. Following the decision to hire him, DJ Chark reacted to the Jaguars bringing in Gruden to the coaching staff.

″I know it all comes down to me making plays, getting open and being consistent,″ Chark, a second-round pick in the 2018 draft, said, via John Reid of the The Florida Times-Union. ″I have to improve. But I honestly felt like Flip put me in a lot of good positions to be explosive, and I feel like the new OC will do the same.″

Last offseason, Jacksonville named John DeFilippo as their offensive coordinator to replace Nathaniel Hackett. Under DeFilippo, Chark recorded the best season of his young career in the NFL.

The former second-round pick of the 2018 NFL Draft hauled in 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019. As a result, Chark was named to the first Pro Bowl of his career this season.

Due to being at the Pro Bowl, Chark hasn't met with or spoken to Gruden yet. But it's evident that Chark is interested in talking to him to discover how he'll be utilized in 2020.

During the regular season, Chark was catching passes from both Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew. Over the course of the offseason, the Jaguars will need to decide on who will be throwing the ball to Chark next season. Once they make the decision, Chark's potential in Gruden's offense is through the roof.
