The Blake Bortles era is likely over in Jacksonville, as the Jaguars benched Bortles in favor of Cody Kessler late in the year. Bortles did win his job back during the final two weeks of the season, but that was only because Kessler was so horrible.

With the Jaguars in win-now mode, drafting a quarterback is probably not the way to go, so they could very well peruse the free-agent market or look for a trade to find their next signal-caller.

Bleacher Report's Chris Roling surmises that Jacksonville could end up with Ryan Tannehill under center for 2019. Tannehill is currently under contract with the Miami Dolphins, but if the Dolphins don't cut him this offseason, they'll take massive cap hits in 2019 and 2020.

Tannehill is not exactly an elite quarterback, but he is better than what he Jags currently have.

In 2018, Tannehill started 11 games and threw for 1,979 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 92.7.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M University, was originally selected by the Dolphins with the eighth overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He immediately started all 16 games during his rookie campaign, finishing with 3,294 yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 picks. He was much better the following year, totaling 3,913 yards, 24 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, recording a passer rating of 81.7.

Tannehill, who has thrown for 4,000 yards just twice and threw a career-high 27 touchdown passes in 2014, has never made a Pro Bowl.

The Jaguars went just 4-12 this season, one year after making the AFC Championship Game.
