The Arizona Cardinals faltered down the stretch this season, after starting 7-0. They lost four of their last five games, which cost them the division and the chance to host their upcoming NFC Wild Card playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams. Instead they hit the road. That could be a good thing, as the Cardinals finished the year 8-1 on the road, best in the NFL.

One of the key reasons for the team's success was running back James Conner. He finished the season with 15 rushing touchdowns, tied for 2nd in the league. Unfortunately for Conner, he was forced to leave Arizona's Week 18 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a rib injury. What's worse, he is yet to practice this week. He was officially labeled as DNP on Friday, putting his status in serious jeopardy for the game against the Rams Monday night.

Conner is currently listed as questionable to play. So is fellow running back Chase Edmonds, who is dealing with a also dealing with a rib injury, as well as a toe injury. However, Edmonds expressed his optimism Thursday that he will be available, saying that he will play.

Arizona has struggled all season keeping their running backs healthy. Conner was in and out of the lineup down the stretch with numerous nagging injuries. Edmonds missed a month of the season from mid-November into December, and then again in Week 18's loss to Seattle.

Conner this season scored four touchdowns against the Rams this season. If he misses this game, Eno Benjamin might be needed to pick up some of the slack with Edmonds not at full strength.
