Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell has taken the NBA by storm in his first season as a professional. No one expected the 13th pick out of the University of Louisville to be this good. Not even Sacramento Kings rookie De'Aaron Fox who already knew Mitchell from way back in high school.

In a video posted by UNINTERRUPTED, Fox talks about Mitchell's rise and why he deserves to win the Rookie of the Year award over the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons.

“I’ve known Donovan since high school.” Fox said. “He was never that good!”

This only proves that Mitchell is beyond sheer talent. The Jazz rookie is a hard worker and all that he's achieved now are products of countless hours in the gym. In fact, Mitchell has already laid out quite the offseason plan that is rare to hear from rookies in the past.

For one, he even plans to watch all of his 2017-18 games — 97 in total, regular season and playoffs — with the mission of studying his game and finding ways to become better.

It's not hard to fall in love with Mitchell's game but it's way easier to marvel at his work ethic. With or without the Rookie of the Year award, the Jazz's future is in good hands with Mitchell leading the way.
