Donovan Mitchell couldn't be any happier for his Utah Jazz teammate Mike Conley, who reportedly received an invite to the All-Star Game.

According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, Conley has received a call to participate in the annual showdown of the best NBA players of the season. Meanwhile, per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Jazz star will be replacing Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker in both the game and the 3-point contest–although the full details of the change remains unclear.

Mitchell, for his part, gave a shoutout to his Jazz teammate and acknowledged that he finally got the respect he deserves.

For what it's worth, Mike Conley was initially snubbed from the 2021 All-Star Game. He was not part of the reserves and was eventually edged out by Booker as replacement to the injured Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis.

Conley was obviously disappointed with the result, saying that he thought it was his year to finally make it to the yearly showcase. After all, he's averaging 16.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists and making an impact for the league-leading Jazz.

“Man, it was tough. I really, really thought this was the year. I joked with the guys on the team that I blame them. We should have started the year 31-0. Maybe that would have given me a chance, but I don’t know what else to do,” Conley said after the reserves were announced last February.

While it's quite unfortunate that Booker won't be able to play in his first All-Star Game as well, it's quite fitting to see Conley take the stage in Atlanta. It's a long time in the making, but one of the most underrated guards in the NBA can finally call himself an All-Star.

It's also certainly a great news for the Jazz, who saw the disrespect on the team go to another level after Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert were picked last in the recent All-Star teams draft.
