The Utah Jazz is on a six-game win streak, but seems to have flaws inside the locker room. The 2022 NBA Deadline put those flaws into the spotlight, and the Jazz was very active in deals throughout the league.

Many have compared the drama between center Rudy Gobert and shooting guard Donovan Mitchell to Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal's. The stars spent eight seasons together on the Los Angeles Lakers from 1996 to 2004.

Mitchell addressed the comparison on the “Posted Up with Chris Haynes” podcast, quotes courtesy of Yahoo! Sports.

Haynes asked Mitchell directly about his relationship with Gobert, to which the Jazz star replied:

“first of all, we're good. I just want to go on record of saying that. But I think it's interesting that that stuff happens…I make the joke– for a group that hates each other, man, we're playing pretty well. And we can be even better,” Mitchell said.

He continued, reassuring Haynes and listeners that the drama isn't as crazy as people think.

“So for me, it's like we're good, we're focused on winning, we're working towards a common goal, and like I said, it starts at me and big fella. If we want to get to ultimately win a championship, it's going to start with us…people are going to say what they want to say and if we win a championship, then there's really nothing to be said. So that's the goal. And we're good. As teammates we're good, we're ready to try and find ways to win…we're looking to do bigger things.”

As for the Kobe-Shaq comparison, Mitchell would love that to be the case in the Jazz locker room.

“I wish because they got three rings. Shoot,” he said.

The Jazz will attempt to continue their winning streak when the team travels to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers Wednesday night.
