Although he's listed as “out” against the Pelicans, Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley was spotted getting some shots up with his teammates during Thursday morning's practice session.

Conley aggravated his hamstring injury back on December 17. His recovery process seems to be moving in the right direction, and the Jazz feel confident enough to have him participate in physical workouts. However, he remains without an official date for return.

The fact that Conley is on the mend is great news for the Jazz, who are currently holding a 28-12 overall record, tied with the Denver Nuggets for the second-best record in the Western Conference and 4.5 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Lakers.. In his 22 appearances this season, the former No. 4 overall pick has racked up averages of 13.6 points on 36.5 percent shooting from the field (36.0 percent from beyond the arc), 4.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per outing.

With Conley still out of commission, players like Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson will likely see an uptick in their usage rates. The Jazz acquired Clarkson in a trade with the Cavs last month. He's given the team a mid-season spark of energy, scoring a combined 36 points in his last two games.

Thursday night's matchup between the Jazz and Pelicans is set to tip inside the Smoothie King Center at 8:00 p.m. ET. Utah will be looking to extend their 10-game winning streak. New Orleans, a team that will soon add Zion Williamson to its on-court ranks, has won three of its last five.
