Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has earned a $500,000 bonus for making the All-Defensive first team, per Bobby Marks of ESPN.

Gobert signed a four-year, $102 million contract extension with the Jazz in the summer of 2016. The Jazz added incentives into Gobert's contract.

Gobert is also a finalist to win the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year award. The Jazz big man won the award last season, too.

During the regular season, Gobert averaged 15.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.3 blocks while shooting 66.9 percent from the field. He was fourth in the league in rebounds per game, second in total rebounds, third in blocks per game and second in total blocks. Gobert is widely considered the best defensive center in the NBA.

The Jazz lost to the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2019 playoffs in five games. Gobert averaged 11.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in the five-game series while shooting 59.4 percent from the floor.

Gobert made $22,741,573 this season. His total incentives this season can reach $750,000. The Jazz would have had to pay Gobert $1 million had he made the All-Star team this season, but it didn't happen. Gobert also has a $250,000 bonus if his defensive rating was less than 100.
