The Utah Jazz have banned the fan who verbally attacked Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook on Monday, according to a press release from the team.

It's a lifetime ban.

According to Russell Westbrook, Raymond Felton and Patrick Patterson, the fan in Utah told Westbrook to, “Get on your knees like you are used to.”

Once Westbrook heard that, he went on a profanity laced rant towards the fan.

This is the right move by the Jazz. What the fan said to Russell Westbrook is unacceptable. The fans in Utah have a history of saying bad things to players, but not all Jazz fans are bad.

This particular fan is making all the fans in Utah look bad when that's not the case. This fan will never be able to attend a Jazz game again. He's paying for his actions.

Russell Westbrook is probably the most polarizing player in the NBA. He gets booed and heckled in every road arena he plays in.

However, the fan in Utah crossed a line with his remarks on Monday. There's no place for racial taunts towards NBA players, who are human beings just like the rest of us at the end of the day.
