The future of the Utah Jazz is anything but positive right now. After a disappointing loss in the NBA playoffs to a temporarily short-handed Dallas Mavericks team, it seems like a massive overhaul is needed. Despite having two All-Stars in Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, they continue to flop in the playoffs.

To make matters worse for the Jazz, Mitchell and Gobert are not that tight. According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, Gobert mentioned Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker as a guy who buys into his team's game plan. This irked people around Mitchell.

“I've been watching him compared to, like, two years ago,” Gobert said of Booker. “Guys like that, they buy in and you can tell that they take pride in playing defense, stopping their man, doing whatever they can defensively to stop the other team and be part of a winning culture.”

The example made some within Mitchell's inner circle seethe, league sources said, feeling like Gobert violated locker room protocols by publicly pointing a finger at his teammate.

Mitchell and Gobert being on the outs is nothing new, making instances like these worrisome for Utah's future. Winning cures all but the Jazz have not been successful enough to overcome these potential subliminal shots.

The Jazz don't have many other ways to improve the roster other than to make a big trade. They are nearly all tapped out on future picks to trade and are built around several veterans. Mitchell isn't dismissing a trade possibility, which could signal the beginning of the end for this iteration of the Jazz.
