Rudy Gobert is widely considered to be the best defensive center in the NBA today. The Utah Jazz big man has two Defensive Player of the Year awards to his name and is a shot-blocking machine.

Gobert was able to prove that prowess when his team needed it the most on Saturday. With roughly 30 seconds left against the Dallas Mavericks, the Jazz held a two-point lead. Mavericks guard Delon Wright had a perimeter mismatch with Gobert out on the arc and drove for the layup in hopes of tying the game.

Using his quickness and ridiculous 7-foot-9 wingspan, Gobert was able to keep up with Wright and sent his layup off the backboard, sealing the win for Utah.

This season, the 7-foot-1 Frenchman is averaging 15.6 points, a career-high 14.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 68.3 percent from the floor. Gobert's defense has helped the Jazz to sit at second place in the Western Conference with a top 10 defense in the NBA.
