New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell is expected to play against the Indianapolis Colts despite a lingering ankle injury, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Crowell sat out multiple practices this past week because of the gimpy ankle, and his availability was considered a game-time decision. However, it seems like barring any unforeseen setback, he’ll be in the lineup against Indianapolis.

Crowell is coming off a career-best performance against the Denver Broncos. He set a new Jets franchise record with 219 rushing yards with a touchdown on just 15 carries. The Jets as a team went for 323 rushing yards as they stormed to a 34-16 win which snapped a three-game losing skid.

Through five games this season, Crowell has 390 rushing yards on an impressive 6.8 yards per carry and five touchdowns. Although, he's completely disappeared in the Jets' three defeats, going for just 69 yards on 32 carries in those contests.

If Crowell is anywhere close to 100 percent, he’ll have a decent chance of putting up another strong outing against a Colts defense which has had its struggles against the run this season.

But if Crowell remains limited by his ankle injury, the Jets will have to turn to Bilal Powell to take on majority of the carries. Powell also had a strong game against the Broncos as he finished with 99 yards on 20 carries.
