The plot thickens for New York Jets owner Woody Johnson.

According to Mike Freeman of Sportico, Jets players are “boiling over” amid the the racist and sexist allegations thrown at the billionaire owner.

The said allegations have already been denied by Woody Johnson, who has been President Trump's ambassador for the United Kingdom since 2017.

In the same tweet, Freeman mentioned that “there might be some type of coordinated statement” coming out soon from NFL players and not just members of the Jets franchise.

The Jets, on the other hand, have also come out with an official statement about the controversies surrounding their owner on Wednesday. The team defended Johnson and said that his family have been nothing but inclusive and just when it comes to handling the members of the organization.

“One of our fundamental principles is treating employees, players, coaches and fans with respect and dignity, regardless of their race, color, religion, or gender. These principles have been established by the Johnson family, which Woody implemented in our organization over the past 20 years,” the statement read.

Two-time Jets Pro Bowler Jamal Adams, meanwhile, has been at the forefront of the criticisms against the Jets owner. If Adams' initial reactions to the controversies about Johnson is representative of how the mood is in the team's locker room, then surely, “boiling over” is an understatement.

It's going to be a little awkward in New Jersey, as the Jets training camp is set to start within the next few days.
