After an extremely slow rehabilitation process that was marred by a few setbacks, costing Joel Embiid his first two years in the NBA, the 2014 third overall pick is blazing through the preseason.

Coach Brett Brown initially slated Embiid to play within a minutes restriction, and over a short amount of time, the Sixers’ prized center has proven to his coach that he is ready to move on to the next milestone on his way to being completely unleashed.

According to Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly, the Sixers coach is considering the option of allowing Joel Embiid to play on back-to-backs.

Through five games this preseason, Embiid has only averaged 13.1 minutes but managed to log 9.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per outing. These are telling numbers that should get the Sixers feeling good about themselves right now.

With the way the 7-foot Cameroonian has been playing, he may just get his wish of being introduced as “The Process” by the team’s PA announcer after initially being slighted.
