After much speculation, the Cleveland Browns decided to make Baker Mayfield their No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. The pick drew mixed reactions from Browns fans, but one notable person was a fan of the pick: former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Shortly after the Mayfield pick was announced, Johnny Football posted a picture of himself on draft day doing his trademark money pose with the caption “Money pick” and tagged Mayfield.

Mayfield going to the Browns adds yet another layer of connection between Mayfield and Manziel, who have been compared with one another for years now.

Both were very talented college players who won the Heisman Trophies. Both are relatively short for quarterbacks. Both excel at scrambling out of pressure and making plays out of the pocket. Both also have significant question marks regarding their personalities coming out of college.

But Manziel has gone on record that he doesn’t agree with people comparing Mayfield to him, saying the two are different players.

The big comparison between the two will now be their actual success on the field with the Browns. While Manziel was a bust and bombed out of the league in a couple of years, Mayfield will now be tasked with the pressure of finally becoming that franchise quarterback Cleveland has craved for so long.

Mayfield will have to wait at least a year to get his shot with the Browns set to sit him while Tyrod Taylor starts at quarterback. But when he eventually gets his shot, Manziel thinks he’ll prove himself to be money.
