Jon Jones has been in the headlines ever since his last bout in February 2020. The Lightheavyweight champion has made the move up to the Heavyweight division but has yet to have a fight scheduled. It was speculated that Jones was going to face off against the winner between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, mainly because that's what the UFC and Dana White were saying.

Instead, negotiations for a title bout against Ngannou fell flat after Jon Jones and the UFC couldn't reach an agreement on payouts. According to MMA Junkie, Dana White claims Jon Jones has been demanding $30 million guaranteed to face off against Francis Ngannou.

“In his deal, he's talking he wants $30 million guaranteed. The way that this works is, these guys all share in the pay-per-view. … He will share in the profits of the fight. That's how it works. That's how you run a business, and you don't go broke.”

After Dana White made these statements, Jon Jones took to Twitter and let the world know his side of the story, as his point of view is vastly different from Dana White, per Yahoo Sports.

Jones has been asking for a massive payout, as he believes a fight between him and Ngannou would be the biggest fight in UFC history. Apparently, he isn't asking for $30 million, even though Dana White says otherwise.

It's a messy situation that likely won't get cleared up anytime soon. White seems to be moving on already, as he's preparing a Heavyweight title bout between Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis instead, per MMA Junkie.

“We tried to work with Jon, and we eventually have to move on because realistically, and in all honesty, Derrick Lewis is the guy who deserves the fight.”

Look for things to heat up between Jon Jones and UFC president Dana White as the two continue to jab at each other publicly. Maybe Jones will take on the winner between Ngannou and Lewis, but only time will tell.
