After 19 years in the NBA, likely future Hall of Famer Paul Pierce retired this season. Pierce spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers and since he retired with them, the team put together a special tribute video for the one-time Finals MVP.

To make their video extra special, the Clippers got rapper Kendrick Lamar to narrate it. The team shared its tribute video for Pierce on Twitter, Thursday:

Here's what Kendrick Lamar says in the video:

Los Angeles, California, the City of Angels.

When people talk about L.A., most mention the beautiful weather, the celebrities, the glitz and the glamour — you know, Hollywood.

But there’s a part of town where you can find the grit, the fortitude, The Truth.

Inglewood’s own accomplished what many others never did before him.

Not only did Paul Pierce represent Inglewood, he put all of Los Angeles on his back.

Life is not all about the wins and losses. It’s also about how you affect people.

Paul Pierce, you are The Truth

(James Harden, Chris Paul, Isaiah Thomas, Kobe Bryant are shown saying “Paul Pierce is The Truth.”)

Thank you Paul Pierce.

Sincerely, Los Angeles

A fitting tribute for Pierce by the Clippers.
