Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are two of the biggest names in the NBA today, so it comes to no surprise that more than a few young players out there would jump at the opportunity to join them on the Brooklyn Nets.

This is exactly the case for projected lottery pick R.J. Hampton, who himself admitted that the wisdom of these two superstars is something he finds to be very enticing.

Hampton talked up Durant, Irving, and the Nets, as he expressed his desire to take his talents to Brooklyn:

“The thing I like about that fit is I can play off those guys,” Hampton said via Zoom (h/t Net Income of Nets Daily). “Those guys are superstars in this league, Kevin Durant and Kyrie. You have Caris LeVert, an up-and-coming star, with a Hall of Fame coach, Steve Nash.

“So those guys would give me the wisdom every single day, just coming in ready to work. That’s a very good team, a great organization to play for, so I think that fit would be good.”

The Nets have already indicated previously that they would be “extremely interested” in scooping up Hampton should he still be available when Brooklyn gets on the board at No. 19. While this appears to be unlikely at this point, anything can still happen from now until draft day.

Hampton might still get his wish, and if they get lucky, he will be an absolute bargain for the Nets as the 19th overall pick.
