The Green Bay Packers have had an eventful offseason but are prepared to make another deep playoff run. Green Bay re-signed Aaron Rodgers to a deal to keep him with the Packers for the remainder of his career.

They also made another big move, trading wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams is one of the top wideouts in the league and is a key departure. While he will be missed, the Packers have done a good job making a quality roster. They added players that will be impactful through the draft and free agency.

Rodgers and the Packers have been great in the regular season over the past three years but have come up short in the postseason. Rodgers has taken home back-to-back MVP awards and will be eager to have playoff success. The Packers have a well-built and balanced roster, giving them the talent to beat any team.

With that said, here is the key Packers position group to make the biggest impact in the 2022 NFL season.

Packers Key Position Group For 2022 NFL Season

Secondary

Entering this season, the Packers have one of if not the best secondary in football. It starts with cornerback Jaire Alexander, who has proven to be one of the best corners in the league. Alongside him are second-year corner Eric Stokes and Rasul Douglas.

Stokes had a solid rookie campaign and will only grow in his second season. The 2021 first-round pick has a ton of talent and is in a great situation to break out and emerge as a star.

An underrated pickup last year for Green Bay was signing Douglas, who turned into a playmaker defensively. He finished with five interceptions, including two that he returned for touchdowns, which is a number that led the NFL.

While he is not a household name to many fans, Douglas' impact was crucial for Green Bay's defense last season.

If the cornerback trio wasn't enough, the Packers also have two great safeties. Darnell Savage Jr. is entering his fourth season, and he has played a pivotal role since arriving. He has excellent speed and can be a playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. Savage will continue to develop as a player and play his role in this elite secondary.

On the other side of Savage is Adrian Amos. Amos has been a consistent safety for Green Bay during his three-year tenure. Amos and Savage will be able to thrive even more with the elite corner trio in front of them and vice versa for the corners.

This can allow them to take more chances, which could lead to creating more turnovers.

Last season, Green Bay still had a solid secondary when star corner Alexander when out. With everyone fully healthy, they should be a top-five secondary in the NFL.

The secondary will allow other aspects of the defense to play to the best of their abilities. Green Bay has a tremendous all-around defense that will play very well off the secondary. The linebacker tandem of DeVondre Campbell and rookie Quay Walker complement each other well.

Green Bay also has a solid pass rush with Rashan Gary and Preston Smith, who both had good seasons in 2021. The Packers' defensive line with Kenny Clark and rookie Devonte Wyatt should also be an impactful unit.

Although the Packers may go under the radar this season, they are set to be a contender once again. The secondary will be the key to Green Bay's defense ranking among the best in the league.
