Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield has been an elite shooter ever since he entered the league in 2016. The 27-year-old sharpshooter has done so well early in his career that on Tuesday, he broke Damian Lillard's record for the most 3-pointers in a player's first four seasons, per Jason Jones of The Athletic.

Going into Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards, Hield was sitting at 827 made threes — just one short of tying Lillard's record that he set in 2016. After a performance that saw the Bahamian native score 17 points which included four makes from beyond the arc, the Kings guard passed the Portland Trail Blazers point guard.

Coming into the league at 24 years old, Hield certainly had a bit of a leg up on players that go one and done in college. However, he started his career off slow, only really hitting his stride the last two seasons with the Kings.

On the 2019-20 campaign, Hield is averaging 19.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 42.8 percent from the field and 38.6 percent the field.

Moreover, although Lillard was already a two-time All-Star by the end of his third season, Hield has been able to conquer the record with supreme efficiency from beyond the arc.

With a career 3-point percentage of 40.6 percent, Buddy Hield far outpaces Damian Lillard's first-four-year percentage of 36.9 percent.
